The construction industry contributes 36% of the world’s total carbon emissions, from the production of the materials to the shipment and construction of the building projects (WBCSD 2018). With global warming and climate change being at the forefront of many people’s minds, it is time to start pushing construction firms to reduce their carbon footprint. Ecologi is an incredible climate positive organisation that funds reforestation projects and carbon offsetting projects across the globe. They have funded the Eden Project Reforestation Project, Wind Farms in Turkey, Solar Farms in India and so much more. With our funding, Ecologi plants tress in different countries, which work towards reducing the amount of carbon in the earth’s atmosphere by absorbing the carbon and turning it into oxygen. Each month we are planting 154 trees and removing 10.6 tonnes of carbon from the earth’s atmosphere to offset our employees carbon emissions with Ecologi.

At Simply Basement, we strive to reduce our carbon emission in our offices and with our services. We have adopted a reduced paper system with our online Simply Dashboard keeping all of your important documents together and safe. This has reduced the need for scrappy pieces of paper throughout the whole design and build process, saving waste whilst ensuring a high level of customer care. We contact all of our clients through emails and phone calls to save on paper waste too.
